Organic, Soy-Free Pork Share Deposit

$100.00
sold out

We raise and process a handful of hogs once per year. We raise Mulefoot hogs, which are known for their excellent foraging ability and docile personalities. Mulefoot’s have fantastic meat quality and are known for their lard, back fat, and hams. We raise our pigs on organic feed, and supplement with spent brewers grain when available from Whaley Farm Brewery. We do our best to provide them high quality forage, while minimizing impact on our land.

Our hogs will be ready in Fall 2024. A pork share deposit reserves a half hog. If you would like a whole hog, add 2 deposits to your cart!.

Our hogs dress out at roughly 70% of their live weight (with skin on, head on)

  • Examples

    • 250lb live weight - 175lb hang weight, 87.5lb halves

    • 300lb live weight - 210 hang weight, 105lb halves

Hogs typically yield roughly 60-70% of their hang weight if bone in cuts are included. If cuts are boneless, or if you choose to turn a carcass into sausage, yield has the chance to be lower.

  • Examples

    • 175lb hang weight - 105-122lb meat (including bone in)

    • 210 hang weight - 126-147lb meat (including bone in)
